conversation Part 3

Q1. When i was eight yrs old in India, i went to a park with 2 of my friends about 6:30 pm in the evening. At the park, there was a water pump. The pump was in cylindrical shape with a rectangular cutting on it, and out of it, was the handle, which you have to swing it to and fro from top to bottom to force out the water. i was so excited to see the pump. i went towards it, and started to swing it, but my swinging was very gentle. it caused very little movement so no water came out. i realised it requires a lot of energy, so for support i held my left hand on the edge of the cutting. then, with my right hand, with a jump and with lot of force, i swang the handle once. When the handle landed down from the top, with terrific force, it hit my little thumb.
I let out a terrible yell. i froze in pain. remorse and grief enveloped me because my mum told me not to go to the park. at that time, since it was not safe, i refused to listen to my mum. i trotted home with my friends who tried to comfort me all the way.
When i reached home, my mum was angry that i did'nt listen to her. she told me that i learnt a lesson. she gave a cup of warm water to dip my injured thumb inside. i hesitantly obeyed her. when i dipped my thumb inside the warm water, it burned slightly, the pain was still there, it only comforted me slightly. my thumb did not bleed but it was badly swollen.
Even after a few days, the pain refused to leave me. i found that my nail on the thumb was tearing at the edges. Moreover, through the edges, i could see some decomposed blood and skin. also, my nail looked pale. when i brought my thumb closer to my nose, it smelt horrible. i worried my mother everyday about the pain. my one and only brother, suggested to take me to a doctor. my mum said '' we can't bring someone to a doctor for such simple things, the nail is going to come out and a new nail is going to grow.'' my heart thudded against my ribs when i heard that because i trusted my mum so much i felt its going to come true. i was very sad that i should take such pain.In fact, it was not only her who said that so, all i had to do was just to be calm. i felt that i was lucky because i injured my left hand thumb, not my right hand thumb because, right hand is important for daily routine work, such as writing, eating.etc.
Finally, what my mum said came true, and the pain was slowly gone. I was happy after then.

Q2. This might be bacause, alternative medicine seem to be working better than the normal medicine. Furthermore, it should be also because some people might have certain drug allergies. There are many skin diseases that are difficult to cure even after trying western treatments so, people may resort to alternative medicine in the hope that they relieve pain. it causes concern for some people bcause probably, alternative medicines are expensive. for obtaining alternative medicine, maybe the side effects are lesser compared to the conventional treatments. In addition, it might be because i heard people telling me that the massage in reflexology is very relaxing.
